This lecture is intended to cover different antibiotic classes with examples. We will be going through sites of action, side effects and interactions of the most common antibiotics used in practice. Throughout the presentation, there will be a number of memory aids provided to make learning antibiotics much more bearable and fun!

1. To be able to list sites of action of antibiotics with examples.

2. To recognise specific groups of antibiotics including: Beta Lactams, Glycopeptides, Aminoglycosides, Tetracyclines, Macrolides & Fluoroquinolones.

3. To give examples of antibiotic side-effects and interactions.
