Let’s Get to the Heart of Cardiomyopathies!

Cardiomyopathies represent a diverse group of diseases affecting the structure and/or function of the myocardium. Many other pathological states, such as diabetes mellitus and alcohol-use disorders, can potentially induce or exacerbate cardiomyopathies so having an understanding of them is key!

Join us for this session where we will explore the pathophysiology, clinical presentation and management of a range of cardiomyopathies.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the clinical signs and pathophysiology of the main cardiomyopathies
2. Understand how cardiomyopathies are an important cause of sudden cardiac death
3. Appreciate the need for and challenges in risk stratification of cardiomyopathy patients
